Sophia is a creative litigator with a pragmatic and client-centered approach to lawyering. She has experience litigating in federal and state courts across the country as well as in all phases of litigation, including motion practice, oral argument, mediation, and trial preparation. As an incisive advocate, Sophia is skilled at crafting compelling, accessible arguments to achieve positive results for her clients.
Prior to joining Harris Trzaskoma, Sophia was an associate at a nationally recognized litigation boutique specializing in wrongful convictions civil rights and government misconduct cases. She also previously clerked on the Ninth Circuit and in the Western District of New York. Together, these experiences honed her ability to adeptly navigate complex factual issues and thorny legal questions.
Sophia also enjoys teaching, including lecturing at law schools about civil remedies for wrongful convictions. She is a member of the National Police Accountability Project and is fluent in Spanish.
